Public Skating

What better way to spend the day than skating with your friends or family? Come along and give it a go.

Entry  is either by casual admission, or season tickets which entitles skaters access to the rink during all public sessions and club coaching sessions. There are a full selection of hire skates in all sizes, plus a canteen providing hot and cold refreshments.

There is no need to book in a public session. Give the team a call at the rink on 03 448 8599 if you have any queries.

When skating outdoors, it's important to dress warmly and comfortably. The most important items are:

  • Layers: We recommend wearing a few layers to trap heat and insulate your body.
  • A jacket or warm jumper: A fleece or a sweater, and top it off with a waterproof and windproof outer layer.  Insulated, waterproof, or wind-resistant trousers will keep your legs dry and warm.
  • Gloves or mittens to keep your hands warm
  • Hat or Beanie to retain body heat, as a significant amount of heat is lost through the head
  • Scarf or Neck Gaiter to protect your neck and face from the cold wind
  • Long, thick socks to make your skates nice and comfy

It's better to be slightly overdressed than underdressed when skating outdoors in cold conditions, and you will probably find that you'll warm up once you start skating.

Ice skate rental is not included in the standard entry fee and available at a small additional cost.

Skate hire is however included in the price for Pre-schoolers. Skate hire is also included in Family Specials and Birthday Parties. See our Charges page for details.
